The Eastern PA Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) will present its new Lona M. Farr, Ph.D., ACFRE Award of Distinction for a Fundraising Professional to the award’s namesake during the chapter’s 2017 National Philanthropy Day Awards Breakfast.
The new award will be given at the chapter’s intense discretion to an elite individual who has exemplified throughout an accomplished career the highest standards of excellence and the most critical quality of a fundraiser – the commitment to give of their time, their talents, and their treasure to their fullest capability. By making these gifts, an honoree transcends the traditional role of a fundraiser and is recognized as a peer by the region’s philanthropic leaders. Each honoree must work successfully as a professional fundraiser for 25 years or more; earn Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE) accreditation from AFP; give of their time tirelessly as a lifelong learner, AFP member, and advocate for professional fundraising; give of their talents freely as an educator and mentor for other fundraising professionals; give of their treasure willingly through meaningful philanthropic contributions to community organizations; and reflect the highest standards of ethical fundraising, adherence to the AFP Donor Bill of Rights, and donor-focused stewardship.
